The Pinebrook dgc is a classic “pitch-n-putt” recreational course located in Venice, FL. This short track features both open and tight, technical fairways. Each fairway includes 1 concrete tee pad and 2 pin positions and a full-color tee sign.
The wooded holes weave through a tangled stand of “invasive” Brazilian pepper trees, so there were no restrictions on how to shape the fairways. The wooded holes were cut in an effort to maintain a shaded canopy for those hot Florida afternoons. As a result, these are some of the trickier holes on the course, which places an emphasis on upshots and putting.
The entire 9-hole course sits on roughly 3 acres of land, which is not ideal, but shows how space efficient a disc golf course design CAN be.
The official Grand Opening was held August 13th, 2010.
